Tacoma First Baptist Church (TFBC) is a Southern Baptist congregation located in Tacoma, Washington. Our English Ministry (EM) is a vibrant, multicultural congregation serving many multicultural families, particularly English-speaking husbands and Korean-speaking wives. We are committed to the faithful preaching of God's Word, Christ-centered worship, biblical discipleship, and the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

Position Summary

The Assistant Pastor will serve in the English Ministry (EM) of Tacoma First Baptist Church. This individual will provide leadership in worship, shepherd and disciple young adults, and assist the EM Pastor in all aspects of ministry. We are prayerfully seeking a servant-hearted leader who demonstrates spiritual maturity, a passion for the local church, and a heart for reaching and discipling the next generation.

Ministry Responsibilities

• Report directly to the English Ministry Pastor.

• Lead worship for Sunday and Wednesday English worship services.

• Assist with the planning, organization, and administration of the English Ministry.

• Preach as assigned, including:
  • Wednesday evening service (approximately once per month)

  • Early morning prayer service (approximately once per week)

  • Other ministry opportunities as needed.

• Provide pastoral care, discipleship, and mentorship for young adults and the next generation within the English Ministry.

• Support the EM Pastor in pastoral care, leadership, outreach, and other ministry responsibilities.

• Participate in the overall life and ministry of Tacoma First Baptist Church.

Qualifications

• A clear calling to pastoral ministry.

• A growing and faithful relationship with Jesus Christ.

• Graduate of a Bible College, or currently enrolled in (or graduated from) an accredited seminary.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Demonstrated experience and ability in leading Christ-centered worship.

• Ability to serve effectively in a multicultural and multiethnic ministry environment.

• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

• Personal Testimony of Faith (including salvation testimony and calling to ministry)

• Proof of enrollment or graduation from a Bible College or Seminary

• Two letters of recommendation (including at least one from a pastor)

Compensation & Benefits (Full-Time Position)

• Annual Salary: $63,000
