About Our Church

Naperville Korean First Presbyterian Church (NKFPC) is a vibrant Korean-American church that has been faithfully serving the Naperville community for over 31 years. Our church is passionate about nurturing the next generation to know Christ, grow in faith, and develop meaningful relationships within a Christ-centered community.

We partner closely with The Kindred Church, an English-speaking ministry that collaborates with NKFPC to serve our congregation and community.

Position Summary

NKFPC is seeking passionate and dedicated leaders to serve in the following roles:

1. Children’s Minister (Part-Time)
Responsible for leading and developing the children’s ministry, helping young children grow in their understanding of God’s Word in a nurturing and engaging environment.

2. Youth Pastor (Part-Time or Half-Time)
Responsible for leading the youth ministry and discipling students (ages 12–18), helping them grow spiritually, emotionally, and relationally in their walk with Christ.

We are looking for individuals who love Jesus, have a heart for the next generation, and are excited to build authentic relationships with students and families. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to shape and grow a ministry with creativity and vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead weekly ministry gatherings, including worship services, Bible studies, and fellowship activities.

  • Provide spiritual mentorship and discipleship for children or youth.

  • Develop engaging, age-appropriate lessons and teaching materials.

  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and church leaders.

  • Recruit, train, and support ministry volunteers.

  • Communicate regularly with parents and the church community regarding ministry activities.

  • Organize retreats, mission opportunities, and special events (especially for youth ministry).

  • Provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance through mentoring and counseling.

  • Collaborate with church leadership and other ministries to create a unified church experience for the next generation.

This role operates under the leadership of NKFPC while receiving ministry supervision from The Kindred Church.

Qualifications

  • A strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and a clear calling to children’s or youth ministry.

  • Previous ministry or teaching experience is preferred.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to teach the Bible in an engaging, relevant, and biblically faithful way.

  • A heart for mentoring and discipling young people.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a ministry team.

  • A degree in ministry, theology, education, or a related field is a plus (not required).

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical ministry standards.

  • Comfort and sensitivity in working within a Korean-American church context.

Compensation

Monthly salary (based on experience and position commitment).
