Overview

Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Chino Hills is an evangelical reformed church affiliated with ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians. We are in Chino Hills, California, surrounded by a relatively younger population from nearby communities such as Chino, Eastvale, Ontario and Pomona, as well as several universities and colleges within a 10-mile radius. At GSPC, we seek to honor Christ through the faithful preaching and teaching of the Word, the administration of the sacraments, the equipping and sanctification of the saints, and the evangelism of the lost. We uphold a one-church model, integrating both English and Korean speaking ministries within the reformed faith. Our congregation averages over 800 attendees

each Sunday, including children and youth. The English-speaking ministry consists of more than 80 members, spanning families, young adults, college students and children.

We are prayerfully seeking a full-time Assistant Pastor who can call GSPC a home.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree from an accredited seminary and have a minimum of two years of pastoral experience.

• Must have the qualities of biblical eldership as stated in 1Timothy 3:1-7.

• Must have sincere agape love for the flock, not only through the preaching of the Word, but also by his personal growth in Godly character and integrity. He must strive to live an exemplary life of sanctification and faithfulness to the ministry God calls him to.

• Must also be able to understand and adapt to cultural ministries.

• Must have heart for the lost, both locally and globally.

• Must be willing to align with the doctrinal views of the church’s denomination.

Pastoral Duties and Responsibilities

• Faithfully study, preach and teach the Word of God through worship, bible studies, and discipleship.

• Administer sacraments.

• Interview, baptize and/or confirm EM members.

• Shepherding and Pastoral Care which include but are not limited to counseling,

mentoring, nurturing and visitations.

• Equipping the body. This includes mentoring and training leadership, overseeing existing ministries and expanding.

• A visionary leader with strong organizational and administrative skills, capable of

overseeing various ministries and effectively guiding ministry planning.

• Accountable to the Senior Pastor and the Session (Board of Elders).

• Faithfully serve and glorify God as the EM Pastor alongside a like-minded leadership of pastors, elders in the reformed faith and promote one church model.

• Promote Godly, Christ-exalting relationships and families within the body of Christ.
