2024년 장학생들

임지훈 장학재단이 2025년 장학금 프로그램'을 발표하고 장학생을 모집한다고 7일 밝혔다.  

장학재단은 20여명의 우수 학생을 선발해 각 5000달러씩 수여할 예정이며, 선 발된 학생들은 임지훈 뉴욕대학교 스턴(STERN) 경영대학원 명예교수의 멘토링을 받을 수 있다. 

장학금 지원자는 2025-2026학년도 4년제 대학 프로그램에 정규 학부생으로 등록된 이들로, 한국계 미국 시민권자 혹은 영주 권자여야 한다. 

커네티컷•델라웨어 메릴랜드•매사추세츠•뉴저지 뉴욕•펜실베이니아 •로드아일랜드•버지니아주 혹은 워싱턴DC에 있는 동부 대학에 다녀야 하며, 최소 GPA 3.0을 유지해야 한다. 

재단은 학생의 재정적 지원 필요성과 학업 우수성, 리더십 잠재력, 개인 에세이 등을 종합적으로 분석해 장학금을 지급한다. 

장학금 지원자들은 '왜 당신이어야 하는가'라는 주제로 1000단어 분량의 서면 에세이를 제출해야 한다. 

모든 지원자는 에세이를 포함해 자기소개서, 추천서 1통, 대학 성적증명서 사본, 2025-2026 FAFSA 학생지원보고서(SAR) 등 의 서류를 준비해 온라인(Jrimfoundation.org/announcements)으로 제출하면 된다. 

신청 마감일은 내년 1월 31일 동부시간 오후 11시59분까지며, 결과는 내년 3월 발표된다. 

장학금 선정 대상자 행사는 내년 4월 뉴욕시에서 진행될 예정이다.

2025 Scholarship Announcement

The Jihoon Rim Foundation is proud to announce its 2025 Scholarship Program, continuing our mission to empower exceptional Korean American and Korean college students through financial support, mentorship, and networking opportunities. 

Scholarship Details

The Jihoon Rim Foundation will award $5,000 scholarships to 20 outstanding students for the 2025-2026 academic year. Beyond financial support, recipients will benefit from mentorship provided by Professor Jihoon Rim at NYU Stern School of Business and former CEO of Kakao Corp. Scholarship recipients will be honored at our annual award ceremony in New York City in April 2025, where they can connect with their peers and start building valuable professional networks. Additionally, awardees will be invited to regional alumni gatherings held in New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C., further fostering a strong community of current and past recipients. 

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

Be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student in a 4-year college program for the 2025-2026 academic year

Be of Korean American (U.S. Citizen) or Korean descent (Permanent U.S. resident)

Attend a college in one of the following states: Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, or Washington, D.C.

Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0

Commit to attending the award reception in New York City in April 2025 (exact date to be announced)

All applicants must submit a written essay of up to 1,000 words outlining why the student believes he or she deserves the scholarship.

All applicants should complete the online application form, which requires the documents.

Personal Essay

One letter of recommendation from an academic or professional reference

A copy of the college transcript

FAFSA Submission Summary,  including Student Aid Index (either the 2024-25 or 2025-26 FAFSA report)

Important Dates:

Application Deadline: Friday, January 31st, 2025, 11:59 PM EST

Notification of Results: Early to mid-March 2025

Award Ceremony: April 2025 (exact date to be announced) in New York City
