소망을 담아 만든 랜턴을 호수위에 띄우면 그림 같은 풍경이 완성된다.
디즈니 애니메이션 <라푼젤>에는 마법의 머리카락을 지니고 태어난 탓에 마녀에게 납치된 공주를 되찾기 위해 매년 공주의 생일마다 호수에 모여 수많은 랜턴을 띄우는 장면이 나온다. 왕과 왕비의 소망을 담아 띄우는 랜턴을 보고 공주가 다시 돌아오길 바라며.
영화에서도 가장 영화다운 이 장면을 체험할 수 있는 행사가 있어 소개한다. 매년 봄과 가을. 여러 주에서 열리는 Water Lantern Festival.
올 봄에는 4월 27일 토요일 Craig Ranch Regional Park에서 열릴 예정이다.
