                                                          OCPC Nursery Intern

Orange Canaan Presbyterian Church (OCPC) is looking for a long-term intern to teach and lead small children, with the

possibility of stepping into a pastoral role in the future. We are a Korean-immigrant church with a growing

Education Department. We currently have only 1 child in the Nursery, but are praying for an overflow of young students!

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Spiritual care for preschool to kindergarten students (approximately ages 3-6)

• Leading Lord’s Day worship (praise, offering time, message, crafts, etc.)

• Wednesday night worship or Bible study, etc. (kid-friendly)

• Participating in the Education Department Praise + Prayer Nights (every 1st and 3rd Friday of each month)

• Implementing a biblical curriculum and teaching sound doctrine to small children

• Providing a loving and safe environment for children

• Praying for students and their families

• Attending monthly Education Department report meetings

  • Will need to create and present a monthly report for the Nursery

• Attending bi-weekly Education Department staff meetings

• Working directly under the Education Department Director

• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Education Department Director

• Yearly budgets

• Monthly newsletter contents

• 2 performances/year for joint worship services (Christmas and Resurrection Day)

• Helping the Children’s Ministry pastor when Nursery students don’t come

Qualifications:

• A godly Christian who lives a Christ-centered lifestyle

• Passionate about proclaiming the Gospel to young children

• Takes initiative without constantly waiting for direction

• Long-term intern (minimum 1 year, with option to continue internship, and possible future pastoral role)

• Flexibility in the church

• Be teachable

• Experience with young children preferred, but not required

• Be in the process of obtaining a degree in Christian ministry or equivalent in an accredited Bible college or seminary

• Must be fluent in English, but the ability to speak conversational Korean is also highly preferred

• Must pass LiveScan background check

Hours generally expected to be at church:

• Lord’s Days: 10 AM-2 PM (worship starts at 11 AM)

• Wednesdays: 6:30-9 PM (worship starts at 7:30 PM)

• 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month: 7-9 PM (worship starts at 7:30 PM)

Compensation: Starting at $750/month
