디즈니랜드 CA 시詩Poem 

요즘 디즈니랜드(캘리포니아)에 푹 빠져있다. 운동을 싫어하는 나를 종화(필자의 딸)가 연간회원권을 끊어 놓고 공간 이동해 놓았다.

디즈니랜드는 우리 집에서 10분 거리다.

걷고 또 걷고 갈 때마다 같은 시간, 같은 공간이 분명한데 보이는 세계가 중첩되거나 복사되지 않는다.

늘 새로운 세계가 열리고, 아이들보다 어른이 많은 세계, 나는 그 세계에서 어린시절 놓쳤던 꿈을 다시 그리고 있다.

하긴, 시골에서 자란 나는 가인섭 교장 선생님(아직도 그 이름을 기억하는 것에 두 번 놀란다) 덕분에 초등학교 6학년 수학 여행을 서울로 갔었는데, 그 때 시골풍경이 먼지처럼 흐트러지는 것을 경험했었다.

훗날,

그 나라(HIS Kingdom)에서 놀랄 내 모습을 그리고, 또 지우고, 그리는 여행이 오늘 한 걸음 앞서고 있다.

These days, I’m completely enchanted by Disneyland (California).

Knowing how much I dislike exercise, my daughter Jonghwa got us annual passes and, just like that, teleported me into another world.

Disneyland is only 10 minutes from our home.

I walk and walk—every visit happens at the same time, in the same space, and yet the world I see is never duplicated or overlapped.

Each time, a new world unfolds.

A world where adults outnumber children,

and in that world, I find myself redrawing the dreams I missed in childhood.

Come to think of it, I grew up in the countryside.

Thanks to Principal In Seop Ka (I’m still surprised—twice over—that I remember his name), I had the chance to visit Seoul on a school trip in sixth grade. That was when I first experienced the rural landscape unraveling like dust in the wind.

And someday, in His Kingdom, I imagine myself in awe - sketching, erasing, and sketching again the person I will become.

That journey begins today, one step ahead of yesterday.
